FAQs
What is the process for getting a crown fitted?
You will normally need two to three appointments consisting of a consultation as well as crown preparation.
How is the tooth prepared?
We may take an x-ray of your tooth.
Before preparing the tooth we can numb the tooth and gum if necessary. We will take an impression of the tooth and match the shade of your tooth to ensure a seamless finish, We will then place a temporary crown on the tooth.
What happens during the fitting of the crown?
In the second appointment the tooth and gum may be numbed. We will then remove the temporary crown, check the fit of the permanent crown and cement it into place.
In our surgery we always will make sure that your crowns fit perfectly and that we are happy with the appearance before final placement. We provide a 5 year guarantee for our crowns done privately.
